Using up lipsticks

Hello! What do you do with favourite lipsticks when they're almost used up?
I have a lovely pink one that I love. There's quite a bit left, but I can't get at it without using a lipstick brush - not very convenient for a quick reapply at my desk or in the car!
Is there a better way, or is this money-saving to far, and I should chuck them?

buy a new one..........
I think trying to salvage the last remains of your lipstick is taking money-saving a bit too far.0 -
...I agree with JennyW, especially since all cosmetics deteriorate once they've been opened and could cause problems if you keep them too long. Lipsticks are fat-based, so if they turn rancid you'd probably know about it anyway, but beware keeping a mascara on the go for longer than 6 months, it can really irritate your eyes. Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes.0

Buy a new one for your bag & relegate the stubby to your 'at home (with brush) kit' - you may find applying with a brush means it lasts longer anyway meaning less 'at desk' touch ups! You need to apply with the brush then blott off the excess with a tissue then re-apply for the best long lasting affect!I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0

Lipstick will last longer if you put foundation over your lips when you do your face - it gives a better surface for the lipstick to sit on. Ditto eyelids for eyeshadow.0
