Before she purchases anything of any worth (think vacuum, kettle, iron, washing machine etc) my friend always goes to the library and consults their collection of Which? magazines- she isn't computer savvy, so uses the old magazine technology!
On the whole I think their reviews are good because when it comes to household items they compare value for money and feed back from their subscribers who have bought those particular products. No one is getting paid to say what the manufacturers would like to hear!
Another place where I would look for a product review is the Good Housekeeping institute
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
