My partner and I have seen a house that we really like. The only thing it has no Kitchen and we were wondering if anyone here knows if we would be able to get a mortgage as there is no kitchen installed. Any advice would be much appreciated

Not a regular high street one, no.
When you say no kitchen is there room for one but it hasn't got a sink or cupboards ? It doesn't have to be much, the vendor will find it very difficult to sell and it's probably worth his while putting in a sink and a few units.0 -
It doesn't need to be a fully fitted or even a modern kitchen, but it does need to have basic amenities and be a functioning unit in its own right - if not (ie the unlikely event there has never been a kitchen area with no elecs/cooker point/drainage with running water and washing facilities etc), there will be a full retention on any mortgage offer, until the kitchen is brought up to basic habitable living standards pre completion -but I'm guessing this is a repo with just a ripped out kitchen (ie removed units) as oppossed to no kitchen facilities at all, which is an easy fix.
If you can't complete without a mortgage, negotiate with the vendor , as at the moment his only audience are cash buyers/developers.
The only other option for you would be a renovation mortgage - try Buildstore - http://www.buildstore.co.uk/finance/renovation.html
Hope this helps

We haven't been to see the house yet but we have got a viewing saturday morning. It's an old council house so I assume that the kitchen has just been ripped out and never been replaced and the details on the house say the house needs extensive modernisation. Thank you so much for your advice so far.0

It has to be habitable for a residential mge. So go and see it and then come back if reqd.
Modernisation isn't a huge mge prob (reflected in valuation)unless there are old elecs, especially if still 2 core, and there is asbestos (usually in the walls of the cupboard holding the boiler where warm air central heating in place seen in older council property) - it starts getting a tad e pensive if vendor wont deal with it.0
