Does the amount I borrow affect my likelihood of getting accepted for credit?

Hello,
I am looking to get a car on finance. I would like to put down a small deposit and get the rest on finance. This may be a silly question but does the amount I borrow affect my likelihood of getting accepted for credit?
I am able to put down a larger deposit but as the finance is 0% I would prefer to spread the cost and keep a bit of money back for emergencies.
Thanks,
Heather

Yes. If your income is not sufficient to support a larger loan, then you would be declined on affordability.0
