Payplan, besides Income/expenditure, what else they require?

When phoning Payplan, and stepchange,

and doing the 45 minute phone call, for the income and expenditure,

what other figures/accounts/ numbers do they require from you, from your finances ? (eg savings/ student loans etc? - what else ?

and is what paperwork is required for this additional income, to be posted to them ? (i mean things other than income/expenditure info)

  • Hi Galeeno

I can't recall needing anything other thn what you mention, except maybe your house value so they can advise whether you are better with IVA or DMP - I was with Payplan. You can use Zoopla for a house value. (bankruptcy and DRO are options too).

I cannot remember sending off any evidence either. My annual reviews are simply done via Payplan Plus, an online tool. I then tick a box to state this is a true and accurate reflection of my finances.

    Good luck xx

Can the whole thing be done , with the Online tool?

income expenditure online? then what happens ? do you get an reference number?... and then call them ?

Did you send Payplan any letters from creditors and collection agencies, at a later stage in the post ??
  • Morning again Galeeno

The initial assessment when you sign up for your DMP is done on the phone. I did mine with the Payplan rep and she then submitted my Statement of Affairs (SOA)to someone for approval (not sure who). She then contacted me a few days later to explain my mobile phone expenditure was too high. I explained I was in a contract and so she 'jiggled' my SOA about a litte, increasing the amount against another expense and decreasing the amount against my mobiles. Thus all my expenses wer covered although the categories were a little different to my initial submission.

The following year I was asked to take part in the same process by phone but I asked if it was ok to use the Payplan tool instead as I found that preferable. I pointed out that my overall payments would be going up. Payplan were amenable to this.

You will also sign a power of attorney type document meaning that your creditors will / should communicate directly with Payplan. This does not always happend, but again via Payplan Plus online tool you can scan and upload any documents you receive.

Yes you have a reference number for your plan and this is the numbers you log into Payplan plus with.

You cannot use Payplan Plus until your plan is up and running.

They also have a very reasonable 'cover my plan' insurance which protects your payments if you die or if you get made redundant. This is optional but is something I find reassuring. I know it is money that could go towards my debts but for me I like to think that my family are protected from my circumstances.

    Hope this helps
