Hi! not sure where to put this, but here goes.... i have an 8 yr old son whom i have mislaid his birth certificate. Now, when he was born, his dad registered him,. but missed out one of his middle names (named after a Very special uncle) Now, just of late, my uncle has asked me about this, and i didnt have the heart to tell him sons dad forgot 8 yrs ago to put it on the cert!
My uncle is mentally disabled and it would break his heart if he knew, as my cousins kids all have his name somewhere in their names!
Does anyone know if i can add this name in, when i get a replacement birth certificate>>??

Hi,

Best to check with local registrar about your situation.

It is possible to change a child's name through baptism, but not sure if this has to be done within a set time.

You may be able to change it by deed poll if you cant change the birth certificate.
