Erm, that's a long post...
A few points that may help.
50% off is pretty good. Get it in writing that that it's full and final settlement and that the balance will be set to zero, not sold etc.
I would t take on a second job personally. DCAs will bite your arm off for payments that don't require this, without adding any interest. Quality of life etc...
Are the defaults that just appeared correctly dated? When were the accounts taken out, what for?
As for your questions
1. Can your OH get a mortgage? I fear those CCJs and defaults will be a major issue.
2. If you don't pay within 6 years, they have to go back to court for permission to enforce the CCJ after 6 years and a judge will want to know why they have been so lazy. Rarely granted.
3. No. They will stay and likely be marked as partially settled.:beer:0 -
Hi there,
Opps yes it was abit of a ramble.
No my other half is not in a position it would have to be a joint application, so I think the outcome would be the same.
I'm not sure if us joining accounts and thing would damage her credit score by association, so may not be the best thing to do...
I may be able to get a guarantor which I don't know if that will hold any sway or not.0 -
If you get a joint account, you are correct that you may prevent her getting credit.
If you want to know the chances of a mortgage now and in a year or two, post on the mortgage board with the negatives on your file and details of likely deposit, loan needed etc.
All may not be lost as they will know your chances of a broker being able to get something for you.:beer:0 -
Spoken to broker looks like a no go as defaults are so recent.0
