New Mortgage Rules

Good morning,
I just wanted some thoughts, I applied for a mortgage last week with Virgin Money and they are going to call me in the next couple of days about our application. I know the new mortgage rules come into place next week and just wondered if people thought they because we applied before they came into place, they won't apply all the new rules or because they haven't offered the mortgage yet, whether we will get all the grilling? I am hearing all these things for example people who have been paying their mortgage without a missed payment for 20 years won't be able to remortgage because their outgoings will be too much!
It would be great to get some thoughts!
