Slow Cooker Lid

I smashed the lid for my Morphy Richards Sear and Stew SC a couple of months ago - the lid is unavailable currently on the website (but selling for a v. reasonable fiver) and amazon listings don't actually describe which models the lids are suitable for - plus they are double/triple the price.

Any ideas? I'm really missing using it :(

TIA

You can still use it, just put a double layer of foil over the top, with a couple of pin pricks in it.

Hope you get another one soon.

I smashed my slow cooker lid about a month ago! It was a cheap one, so I didn't think about a replacement lid. I know it's not that frugal, but I just bought a new one for £9 in a sale. I will keep in mind the tinfoil thing just in case I break the lid of this one as well!

I broke mine about 10 years ago. I use a lid from the set of pans I have. It fits reasonably well but I wrap it in tinfoil to make sure of a tight fit to keep the heat in.
  • The handle on mine smashed when it was dropped a few years ago. I bought a pan lid in a cookware shops sale (£1), and swapped the handles over, but used a glass steamer lid in the interim. Will bear the tin foil thing in mind for future. Is your Morphy Richards oval rather than round?

Yes, oval, unfortunately. I will use foil until the lid becomes available again. OH suggested just buying another SC but I refuse :p
