    Hi!

Re: Laundry, I find it helpful to fire up something on the laptop (a movie or something on netflix, or even just music) and watch/listen as I go. Once you get started it's never as bad as it seems.

Glad to hear you're getting back on track. I'm in a similar situation. :o

I find it helps to lower your standards. I hang everything up to dry as soon as it comes out the washing machine. I tend to buy work clothes that don't crease much and find I can get away without ironing most things. I have to admit it is very rare I iron anything at all even the stuff that needs it :o - life is too short.

I agree avoid ironing as far as possible. I very rarely iron. I fold clothes to minimise creases and avoid buying clothes that need ironing.

Summer a bit awkward as have some skirts that woulld have to be ironed. But this is Summer in the UK I don't think I'll be ironing much!

Shirts get ironed for weddings and funerals in this house, the rest of the time they are just hung to dry. M&S do some nice non iron ones I used to buy for my boys school days but those are behind them now!
Washing is a pain because with the crummy weather it has to be hung indoors, but I try and do one load a day (5 if it's sunny and I can hang it out!)
DH and I have had more rows than I can remember which involved me packing him off to his dads for anything from a few days to a few weeks. I know it's not ideal but it does diffuse the situation and give you both time to think.
Best of luck to you all x
  • Thanks for the comments guys just finished up dinner and settling in with a nice cuppa to meal plan :D
i am not planning on ironing much TBH but the kids clothes look much nicer ironed so will go over them and a few other bits.
gotta stretch the budget for a few more days before a big shop so wish me some woopsied good luck
gonna see how Aldi compares with the next shop so fingers crossed i can save a few pennies.

  • settled down to see whats in store for me on the flylady thread and half sorted out the pile of cr*p behind the chair in th3e dinning room
realised i am so much like my dad i have a huge tangled mess of wires that i wont get rid of just in case i need them lol
kids r fed and dressed and off playing and my mum will be round soon to help keep em busy while i put a big stack of clothes away and clean out my kitchen cupboards
must start a small bonfire to get rid of the piles of paperwork that we really don't need any more as its taking up soo much room in one of the cupboards
dinner tonight is chilli and pita cooked by hubby so just have to reheat some veggie curry for the kids later and figure out what to do em for tea maybe toast and something/
i find sorting out the kids lunch and tea so difficult as my DD is so fussy and changes her mind all the time but we are slowly getting there :D
also need to find a better solution for getting stains out of their clothes so any tips would be great they both suffer from eczema so coventional stain removers can be a bit harsh for them
hiows every one else doing this rather lovely morning ?

    Thought id join in :)

Done the full flylady list for today, plus tidied kids bedrooms :) Feeling more able to breath now. Made a list of '15 min missions' since I have a bit of De-cluttering to get through over the next week or so. Will try and completely 1 a day. Washed 2 loads of laundry and got them on the line outside. Defrosted food according to meal plan, and about to make some potato salad for us for lunch. Feeling calm and in control after a manic few weeks.

thought I would join in too :D

Me and the OH are having troubles at the min too, mainly financial, which is his fault and things came to a head yesterday and I told him so (after he told me that im basically useless and dont contribute enough to this house (apart from basically running it and doing everything in it, whilst holding down a 20hr a week job and looking after two kids) or financially. Which really upset me as I only work part time on a minimum paid job. He has yet to feel my wrath as he went off to work.

As for the house decluttering thing, well i struggle to keep up to the basics lol, so im gonna make myself a plan. Got so much to do lol. However, im a pro (well i like to think so lol) at cooking and baking, and Im just about to make a pie and muffins.

Men. Why do we have em?

As you like books, does your library have audio books?

I get mine on little mp3 type players (playaway they are called) or tapes and plug in my headphones when I'm doing something boring,or doing my knitting. I'm not a tv fan.

Takes your mind off what you are doing, whether it's ironing, dusting or doing the dishes.
