Still claim jsa if job starts in 4 weeks

Hi
This has probably been asked before but search function doesn't seem to be working on my phone. And can't find anything on gov website.
My question is basically the thread title, I have beem offered a job that starts on 15/05. Can I still claim jsa until then?
The reason I ask is that I've been booked onto a couple of sessions to help back to work which I obviously don't need to attend anymore. I'm still going to look for a better job but am wondering if they'll stop my claim if I tell them I'm not going to these sessions as I don't want to just not turn up.
Any assistance would be great.
Thanks

To be honest, I would do exactly as yu are told by the JC, if you want money from the public purse, then you cant just choose not to attend. They can stop your claim at the drop of a hat.
The first thing to do, obviously is ask them.....
You also have to remember, being offered a job on a certain day is not a guarantee, jobs can fall through at any time.
Hope it all works out for you.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks.
I would speak to them first as one of the sessions is before my next signing date.
It's more if I tell them I have a job and no longer want to go to the sessions will they stop it straight away. I'll still be looking for a better job in the meantime. I have been applying for amything and everything and have been offered a job on minimum wage so like everyone would obviously prefer something better.0 -

They will tell you if you still need to do these sessions if you want to get JSA & get your money.
They don't know whether your job may fall through or whether your spinning a yarn, unless you can prove to them you've got a job.0
