How about scones and cream and jam they wouldn't take long to knock up with some willing volunteers and a couple of piping bags0

You could line the pastry cases with a thin layer of chocolate to stop them going soggy. It would add to the costs but allow you to make them further ahead.0 -
We had these at a wedding recently, bride's mother had baked them couple of days before, there were these, some bite sized cheese and chive rolls and either Prosecco or oj to drink. Lovely idea.
