I was looking at 5yr fixed terms and came across west bromwich bs, the rates are better than santander plus they assist with legal fees though when I called them to ask how much on legal assist fees I was told I need to have a 2hr conversation with a mortgage adviser just to get that answer which I was ready to do so they asked me few questions on flat i'm buying then asked year the flat was converted from house to two flats as if pre 2000 they can offer 80% LTV but if post 2000 they offer 50% LTV. Unfortunately, the agents are very useless and slow at getting back to me, its been over 7wks since our vendor accepted our offer and still looking so very slow but agents I don't find helpful in giving me info. But before I hassle them further just wanted to find out if WB are any good as lender, as so far they are only ones that seem rigid in what they lend and criteria of property.
