is there anything at north queensferry to doPopular choice is to take train from Edinburgh Waverley to North Queensferry ( crossing the "Forth Bridge" rail bridge )
Then walk over to the Forth Road Bridge and walk back across to South Queensferry seeing the "Forth Bridge" in all its length.
At South Queensferry there is the inns to take refreshment and also boat tours of the Forth islands to partake, before venturing back up to Dalmeny station for the train back to Edinburgh.0

thanks, is there a bus and train ticket you can buy do you knowThere are in fact two and a bit bridges now, work on the third one is starting to appear well above the waterline now.
OP, I would suggest that you get a train one way and the bus the other, so that you experience both of them and get a view of both. My choice would be train from Edinburgh to North Queensferry, descend from the station to get a birds eye view of the rail bridge, then return to the station (steep climb) to get a train to Inverkeithing, and from there get a bus back across the road bridge. If there's a bus from Inverkeithing that takes you into South Queensferry that would give you views from the south shore too.

No 87 from Dunfermline to N.Queensferry stops at the Ferrytoll Park and Ride just at the North end of the Bridge.

And buses from all points North and South stop at the Ferrytoll:

Or train from Edinburgh - the Fife Circle Line is the one to look for as it stops at all the local stations.
Its not a big place - and it all focuses on the old ferry slip - You will soon find everything walking around.
Films - The thirty Nine Steps and the recent TV drama Low Winter Sun come to mind but there are more.

And if you see Gordon Brown going about, don't worry, he lives there.0
