Mortgage & defaults

Hi,

First off sorry if this question has been asked a million times. I'd like to know if anybody has managed to get a mortgage with defaults on their credit file.

I have been told I'd stand more chance getting a mortgage through a broker with defaults on my credit file is this correct?

    Yes you can, it will come down to the details.

    If you have a 5% deposit and an £8k default from last month then your going to struggle. If its a £200 default from say 3 years ago and you have a 10% deposit, then it should be achievable.

    Probably is a good idea to speak to a broker.

    Hi, we are doing this at the moment, application through a broker with a 9k and a £340 default from 5 years ago with 15% deposit.
    If it doesn’t move, and it should, use WD-40. If it moves, and it shouldn’t, use duct tape!
