I had no problem with Ciao/Toluna, and I'm not sure that the story of the £10 voucher is a complete picture, as I understand that people dropped were given a reasonable period during which to claim the vouchers of their choice. (See Post #1070 in this thread).

If we were dealing with Pigsback here, I would agree. But Nielsen are rather more professional, I think. And I have no idea what I would use my CP money for at the moment. I don't really shop on the High Street.

Just a point about leaving money in survey panel accounts, I wouldn't recommend doing this as they have been known to close or merge with other panels, I had a nightmare getting my accounts merged when Ciao joined with Toluna, I always cash out as soon as I have enough for the lowest value reward that I'm interested in, over £100 as some of you seem to have is a lot of money to lose if anything goes wrong, a lot of time as well.

I would strongly agree here. I have heard some horror stories about CP on other forums, where people have "saved" their money in the account, then CP terminates their membership. CP can revoke your invitation at any time, and they give excuses that you no longer fit their criteria, or their "demographic profile".

I would take the money out - I never leave any in mine.

I'm afraid it is, once she got the e-mail to say she was dropped she tried and failed to log back into her account to claim her vouchers and found she was locked out :(

I would look on e-bay as most vouchers go for around face value ( unsure why ) and see which are getting the best prices then you could have the cash from the sales instead, the downside of that though is of course the sellers fee's etc

I quote from the message I linked to in my last post, which perhaps you haven't read: "If you wish to redeem your points please contact 0800 0121 488 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm) within the next 8 weeks. You will not be able to redeem points from Consumer Pulse."

And so, no, your friend would not have been able to cash her points in on the CP site. She probably had to ring the free number given. Of course, her email may not have said the same thing.

Consumer Pulse are part of TNS, not Nielsen. ;)

Actually, we're both wrong (but I am more wrong than you!)

Consumer Pulse is part of Kantor Worldpanel. In 2008, TNS Worldpanel was bought by WPP, who rebranded it as Kantor Worldpanel.

The name TNS is still used worldwide, however.

Apologies for my error, though I think my sentiment still applies!

Yes I've read the post, this was from a receint "dropping" but my friend was dropped over a year ago now, so yes maybe practices have changed in that time, she had warned me as she knew I was ( and still am ) a member of C.P.

I wasn't trying to scaremonger but simply giving my oppinion of the risks of banking points.

Hopefully they bring back amazon e-vouchers for those who do prefer online shopping as their sister company shop and scan still do them.

ciao told ppl months before the merge, so everyone had time to cash in. I did and they merged and i closed my toluna after cashing that in, but i closed that coz toluna is trash.

but with CP i woulda cashed in on amazon as i go like in the past... but have no idea what to spend it on now, other than a holiday.
