Part time hours

Hi all... New to MSE and looking for advice that I can't find elsewhere on the web...

I'm looking to possibly take a career break from work. The rules that are laid down by my employer (in a company policy), state that I am not allowed to undertake and full time employment during the break if I wish to return to work.
I understand that the Govt don't exactly stipulate what constitutes full time hours, so my question is;
If I undertake part-time and self employed work or two part-time (freelance) jobs with different employers, would it be classed as full time if the accumulated hours were more than my existing contract?
I'm only asking as I need to reinstate work-life balance but still have bills to pay!

Any advice or signposts would be greatly appreciated.

Ta.

    It is the case of what's actually written in your contract and policies. If you're doing two part time jobs, then effectively that's part time.

    Ask the employer to clarify the policy as currently it is not clear what is acceptable, you also want to include scope of the work and anything that is excluded.

    As an employer should not currently unreasonably restrict secondary employment so check your current contract as this may also have restrictions and they will likely remain in force, it is not uncommon for the policy to be you should inform the employer and get permission for other work.
