EON Direct Debit

Last Year my Father died and the house he owned was left to me .He used EON as his energy supplier so i carried on with them setting up a new account paying £96 a month for dual fuel that was around the same as he was paying .Around January i installed Solar Panels and then last week i submitted meter readings to EON for Electric and Gas my direct debit changed to £58 a month .Is this due to the solar or have they previously over estimated my energy usage as nothing really has changed in the house same number of occupiers same appliances .
Nice to save.

It's a bit soon for the SP effects to have been noticed by EON. More likely that there was some period when nobody was living in the house followed by lower usage by a younger person (perhaps out at work most of day ?).

very likely that there will be a further reduction in DD after the summer bills.

But it may be a mistake to stick with EON (or indeed anyone else) just because they previously supplied that house. Well worth checking the market to see what other suppliers would offer.
