I would write to the DCA, explaining that it's being investigated and give them the name of the person to contact.
If they refuse, submit a written complaint to the DCA about refusing to look into a reasonably disputed debt. That will buy you a few weeks and you never know, they may actually look into it.
Thank you so much!!! :rotfl: :T I will try to give them a call first to see what they would say. I really do not want to give them permission to look into my account. If they refuse, then I will definitely submit a written complaint.0 -

No, never ring them for any reason.
Always do it in writing, then you have a paper trail of what has been agreed/not agreed.
In writing always

I called the company this morning and told them that I went to the housing benefit centre in May and I do not know why the debt is still not cleared. I told them I contacted the benefit department again yesterday to try to sort things out.
The lady over the phone did not really say anything for that. She just told me to keep chasing the department. I then told her that I will definitely keep her updated on the outcome.
My phone signal has been really bad recently. Both of us can barely hear each other. I think she mentioned something like she is going to get/send a statement?? But then the line just stopped, again.
I totally agree with what you said that I should keep physical evidences.
Do you think in my case whether I should write a letter to the agency stating that I contacted them today, explained what is going on at the moment to the lady officer already, and will keep them informed on the outcome? And if I am going to send a letter, do you think I should ask for Signature Confirmation?
I've just realised that the lady I spoke to today did not tell me her name at all. When I asked her name she just talked about something else. Also she did not say how long I have to get everything sorted. (Maybe this is a good thing??)
I am so sorry for being a pain. I never really expect that there will be a debt on my account and I have no experience dealing with the debt agency at all. I really do not know what I should do or can do. I am just so worried for the whole things.
Thank you once again for your help and time. Hope you have a great weekend. :T0
