Best way to pay off an overdraft?

I've been completely debt free for almost a month :T and I have worked hard on paying off my own debts and clearing the overdraft of mine and my DHs joint account. I have also set up several savings accounts too and am managing really well.

DH has two 0% balance transfer cards which he is paying off but he also has a massive overdraft (£1,000) he hasn't read his statements for months and knows it's in a bad way but he seems to think once the CCs are cleared he will be able to focus on the overdraft. I reminded him that I have managed to clear two overdrafts and two credit cards in 6 months by extremely strict budgeting so actually it was doable.

He's half way to an LBM, but it's frustrating, how can you be aware of something and know it needs sorting but just ignoring it? And why keep complaining about it if you aren't prepared to do anything about it?

So yesterday I looked on MSE for ways to clear the OD, I h
Gave him the options, won't go for a money transfer from a card nor transfer the balance to another 0% card as he already has two! he doesn't seem to get that it would cost him less to do this! He then tells me he has two bank accounts?! After 10 years he only JUST tells me this.

I want to help him to be in control and he is aware but I don't know what else to suggest. I cleared mine by setting a budget and sticking to it and drastically cutting spending, he reckons he can't possibly do this.

So any other ideas? Anyone else been in the position of wanting to do something and being aware of it and complaining about it but not actually doing anything about it?

It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world

One approach may be to identify how much of his income is going servicing the debts(not paying them off just the costs, interest and charges).

This is equivilent to a pay cut of that amount or if he paid them all off a pay rise.
