Car being taken away!!!!!

Hi guys my daughter was declared bankrupt a couple of weeks ago and had her OR interview today.
They have told her that she will probably lose her car which she needs for work. It is worth about £2750 and apparently you cannot have a car over £2k. Has anyone had experience of this? What is likely to happen? The OR assistant seemed to be saying that someone could just turn up at her place of work or her home and take the car with no warning but this does not seem right. What if she is at work, how would she get home!!!
Other than that is has all be made quite painless by the courts and the OR. My daughter however spends most of the time in tears she feels such a failure.

can anyone come up with £750 to pay the differance, the or may even accept less as there would be no collection/storage or auction fees ?0

I don't think it is that simple, sky. There actually is no hard and fast ruling on car values - it depends, unfortunately, on the individual OR's interpretation of the guidelines. There are many conflicting threads on this subject.
One thing that OP can consider is making an offer to 'purchase' the car from OR. The 'value' will almost certainly be less than that stated, since it would be based on what OR can reasonably expect to get at auction. There will, also, be collection costs.
I think that a realistic offer would be in the region of £1200 - £1500.
You should, also, stress that your daughter needs the car for work, and the OR SHOULD take this into account.
If OR DOES take the car, and this prejudices your daughter's work, then OR SHOULD provide money to buy a cheaper car.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

hi all my car is only worth £900 and it has crash damage (to repair is £1500) hnce why it has never been done) the OR wanted my car unless i could get a family member or friend to make a offer on it and my uncle offered £100 and it is just been accepted payment must be made within seven days!!! so i would suggest that she either explains her case for needing the car to be exempt or could someone make an offer to purchase it for her x
