How to find out who issued the CCJ

Hi,
I'm trying to help a friend clear his debt. One is a CCJ for £1700.
I emailed Brentford court regarding this and today he got a response in the post. They've given him a copy of the original CCJ from 2008 but it doesn't mention which company the debt is for.
Is this normal?
I've sent another email querying this but the court didn't answer the question first time around so I'm not hopeful.
Couple of reasons for doing this - mainly so I can contact the company and try to negotiated the £1700 and secondly to make sure it isn't a duplicate on his credit file and he's not paying the same creditor twice.
Thanks very much.

You need to as the court for a copy of the Particulars of Claim.
Be aware that if no enforcement action is taken within six years of the date of judgment, the claimant can only then seek to enforce with permission of the court.
What was the date of judgment?0 -
3/6/2008

As said, a couple more months and they need to go back to court to explain why they haven't bothered to enforce in 6 years they had.
These are rarely granted from what I read in here unless you have been living in a cave and their attempts to trace you failed.
I would be tempted to leave it until after the 6 year point unless they start chasing.:beer:0 -
So if we wait until the dated has passed it will automatically be removed from the credit report?0

You say you are going to negotiate? Does this mean you are paying somebody something or your not paying anything?
If your paying nothing, leave it alone do not contact anybody until they contact you.I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013

I meant negotiate with creditors who aren't at the ccj stage, just in default. I'm going to leave the CCJ until after that date and see if it's removed.0
