New deal from Sky is coming monday.

Hi,

I've been trying to get a upgrade to Sky + HD and I'm currently being quoted £199.00 (free Install) but earlier today I was quoted it for £149.00 (free Install) but I wanted to see if I could get it any cheaper but I couldn't... So I ran back to confirm the order but they was offering it again from £199.00 so I went through to the complaint department and I have been told the £149.00 is a new Deal starting Monday...

So if your thinking about upgrading I would suggest do it monday when the new comes out.

I'll keep you informed on how I get on.

    Hi,
I had sky HD installed in the bear cave yesterday, all for £149, and I have to admit its pretty damn good, ie pic quality, however you have to take into consideration that even tho the box maybe £149/£199 you still need to pay £10pm hd subs, and there are currently only 13 HD channels avail, and some of the progs on them arent HD.

Im sure it will come into its own come the footie season etc but for now im not mega over joyed at my new purchase.

    All the best

Thanks for the info, I think I'll going to wait now. How did you get the £149 price ?

I got my box for £149 thanks to a tip off from a neighbour, who works for british gas, apparently they have a staff scheme which gets you hd for £149 and free install and slightly cheaper monthly subs, however Ive heard that later this month sky are going to drop the price of the hd box anyway, which is amazing because i had to stamp my feet and sulk to get sky+ at a decent price and with in a week it had dropped to the price i'd paid.

We had Sky HD installed yesterday from the British Gas deal, and even though there aren't many channels yet, it looks great on our new 42" LCD which we got 2 weeks ago....and all thanks to Martin and reclaiming our bank charges.......

Thanks for posting this thread, my hubby has been on about sky HD since last year!

I have a couple of questions if anyone can answer for me :-
Can I use the existing Sky + box for multi room?
I am on the top package of £43.00 at the mo - not sure what the charges are for - we get all movies and sports. If we were to get the sky HD would we have to pay extra for the service??

I am out of the 12 month contract now.

    Thanks in advance

It doesnt matter what package you have sky will still charge you £10 per month for use of their HD service, personally I think its not proportionate if you dont have sky moves and sports, ie you'd still be paying £10 per month for national geogrpahic, sky one, bbc hd and some other documentary channels.
