Four years ago now I went through an abandoned village that was empty due to Franco, it was in the East in Aragon, you had to go over a small bridge over a river to access the village. There were still the remains of work that had been done to create a dam, but was never completed.
It was a larger village, there were a few house, a church and a farm, it was lovely and considering how long it had been empty it wasn't in too bad condition. The Church looked as though it had only been empty a few years and it had beautiful paintings on the walls and ceiling inside.0
