Ordered 2 sofas boxing day, paid deposit of £809 told delivery would be end of March at the latest. Went into store 2nd week of April to be told our sofas hadnt been ordered and were no longer available. We had no communication within that 14 weeks and when he brought the screen up our landline plus my mobile number were incorrect. The store manager said give him a couple of hours to check what had happened. We went to another shop nearby and saw 1 we wanted.Returned to scs after two
hours to be told that it was available after all.Said I wanted a refund as we'd changed our plans, was told the manager was away till the 14th April and he'd call us that day.He didnt.Went into the store on the 15th Manager said refund wasnt an option, offered us £100 compensation and would reorder them,we agreed. He then came back and said the red with black trim which was what we originally ordered wasnt even a combination that they did. After saying repeatability that a refund wasnt an option and I would
need to choose another colour I feel we should be entitled as they had actually sold us something that didnt exsist.Any advice would be really appreciated.

If they don't have what you specifically ordered, then you are entitled to a full refund. How did you pay the deposit?
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

If it were me I would send a Letter Before Action requesting an immediate refund of all monies paid within 7 working days as they have failed to fulfill the order.

Google 'Money Claim online' for more information if you wish to pursue this; if they failed to refund I would immediately escalate to small claims court.

Do you have it in writing they are unable to provide the item/s as agreed? If so try a charge back with your bank?

No we dont have it in writing it was only when he went on the screen to re-order it he noticed they didnt do that colour combination, he really annoyed me when he kept saying a refund isnt an option plus he said they dont do it that colour cos no one would ever want it, my partner advised me to go and wait outside at that point as I was getting sofa rage

The conclusion to this story is scs said they could do a one off in this colour combination and it would cost us an extra £400.I was adamant that I was not willing to pay extra and they "eventually" agreed there would be no cost to us.I think we couldve got a refund but it would have meant goodness knows how long waiting for call backs from managers that always seem to be on a day off or going down the court route so even though I have to wait 12 weeks ill get what I originally wanted

I can't believe you've accepted this to be honest unless you really loved the suite. Another twelve weeks is ridiculous, I realise if you went elsewhere fair enough you'd have another wait but SCS aren't doing you any favours here. They agreed a price and delivery day, they failed to meet the delivery date and then tried to charge an extra £400, no dice in my book. I'd want a discount from the original price or walk away.
