Flat Mole Removal

Hi there,
I am thinking about removing a couple of flat moles on my face with a surgery in London.
I was wondering has anyone had a flat mole removed? If so what was the result like and is there a particular surgery expert you'd recommend?
Any help would be appreciated!

I had a mole which was very small and slightly raised removed at the doctors recently as it kept scabbing. Anyway I have a scar that is much bigger than the original mole so I would be very careful where you get it done.0

Ask your GP if you can be referred to a plastic surgeon. You might be lucky and get the moles removed on the NHS and a plastic surgeon won't leave a noticeable scar.;)10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. I had a couple removed by NHS from under my arms about a decade ago. As already stated, be careful that the scar's not more noticeable than the moles.0

Thankfully most GPs will not entertain such a request - a complete waste of NHS resources.
I think if you have a mole that is hugely noticeable and causing major distress you should be able to have NHS treatment for that, but I don't think you should be able to have expensive cosmetic removal on the NHS unless it's an exceptional circumstance.
I have much more noticeable moles than the one on my arm including one on my face but the arm one was removed because the shape changed and it was scabbing. I had it photographed several times by the doctor and was in the list for months.
Fortunately it was not cancerous and I'd rather have a scar even though it's bigger than the mole and know it's not skin cancer.
I spoke to the doctor a while ago when I was there for something else about the one on my face asking about private removal and he said at best I'd prob have a flat scar as big as the original mole which I'd have to cover with makeup and that it would be fairly costly.0 -
I had a sebaceous cyst removed from my cheek (it looked just like a mole, was around 0.7cm and very raised) about 7 years ago. The surgeon cut across, scooped out the insides (sorry - gross!) and then cauterised it. I have a scar which is slightly lighter than my skin tone (I am very pale and my cheeks tend to get red) but not really that noticeable.
I had a slightly raised mole removed from my face in December 2013 at a private clinic. The lady tried to "tie" it off, but as the mole wasn't particularly raised, it burst (again, gross; sorry!) and it was then cauterised. It has been around four months and I have a pink, slightly uneven scar but it is quite small (smaller than the mole).
How you have the mole removed will determine the scar - apparently the "tie off" method typically leaves less of a scar than some other removal methods.
I think I paid around £120 and I had it done just outside the M25.0 -
