Don't forget Easter

Just a reminder that for most of England there is no postal services on Friday or Monday. Ebay are likely to ignore this with their delivery estimates- so if you are nervous about your stars it might be better to warn buyers when you ship to remind them as well that things might take longer.

Buyers will still want it the next day. I bought it on Saturday afternoon and it didnt arrive on Sunday.

Sellers need to do better. Im sure ebay live chat will agree with that :D

Although the same could be said about ebay live chat. Must be near impossible to get any worse. Surely?

    I wouldn't challenge them on that! :D

Just looking at the community boards and reading a couple of threads on a facebook group, and accepting that perhaps some sellers do get the wrong end of the stick live help is positively dangerous at the moment. There are several people for instance who have been told that they are not losing their 100 free 99p listings, but just get an additional 20 BINs as well- one person on facebook cut and pasted what he said was a bit of the transcript that stated clearly that the announcement was 'good news' so why do people think ebay would then remove the free 99p listings?

AS for me, I still feel my blood pressure creep up a little, as it is now, every time I print an ebay label within my stated time frame and using the service that I have stated and get that nasty little emssage warning me that the postage method does not meet buyers expectation and I will need to upgrade it. I also have an estimated delivery on a sale this morning 2nd class (not due to be posted until tomorrow!) that shows a Good Friday delivery estimate.

I can't win, I just can't, I might as well open a bottle of Champagne a la 'Absolutely Fabulous' and post the stuff when I can be bothered.

(I'm a little grumpy this morning due to Good Friday delivery estimates)

I want to buy something now and have it delivered to my works address on Friday.

We're closed and the gates will be locked but I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem for any decent seller. :D

Well knock me down with a feather, items I have just sold with a next working day despatch 2 nd class shows an estimated delivery of Tuesday/Wednesday next week. That is an improvement on earlier today where they were showing Monday/Tuesday.

Even Tuesday/Wednesday is pushing it though as I can't post now until Saturday so 2nd is not likely to be scheduled to arrive until Wednesday/Thursday.

Still, better than nothing. No wonder there are several people on the community boards who have decided not to risk it and have closed their shops over Easter.

Just had my fastest delivery from China. A cheap LED watch £1.30 i think all in.

Bought and paid on the 10th and delivered today. Still waiting for a necklace i bought on the 4th though. Thats what we assumed when the package arrived.

See chinese sellers can do it. UK sellers must be slow and lazy :D

Im glad i read this again. I was thinking of listing a couple of items but might not bother now. Probably collection only anyway.

Been on the phone to my dad earlier. He bid on an item and he said it didnt show a reserve until he bid. He thinks he can still win it for his original bid. Wouldnt beleive me when i said if it didnt jump upto the reserve price then your bid is below it and you wont win.

And he was moaning because he bought something last thursday and it had not arrived yet.

I have a few orders received since last collection yesterday, my local post office will be open saturday morning, last collection 9.15 a.m. :(

Think I will send everything first class and hope they arrive on Tuesday...
  • Were they delivering today? One of my buyers seems to think so.

    where was your buyer?

if in Scotland then yes delivery was as usual on Friday, post offices where open too. Good Friday is not a big holiday in Scotland, (we get an extra day to get rid of the hangovers at new year instead!)

I presume the post office will be super busy tomorrow?

And lots of sellers will have negative comments on Monday night.

Ah well its free listings this weekend.

Does anyone know if RM were actually delivering today. I seem to have had a fair few feedback this morning and I thought there were no deliveries today but thought they must be as usually half of my feedback comes on the day of receipt ?
