Oven, Montpellier

Just seeing if anyone has any experience with the make montpellier. I need to buy a new oven and my local supplier has Montpellier ovens and i'm thinking if I buy one with the extended guarentee then it'll be ok?? Any thoughts greatly received, Thanks.

No experience of the make, but would just say whatever you buy make sure the walls and top have stay clean liners or are self cleaning. Spent a lot of money on an AEG last year. oven is fantastic for cooking but cleaning it is a nightmare and it has to be done every four weeks or so. have now given up and called in professionals and will be dumping it as soon as the guarantee is up in a year!!!!

Has anyone used an AEG with catalytic cleaning. They say it heats Upto 400-500 'c for an hour and burns everything off. Does it really work or will I still end up scrubbing the oven ?

I've got a Neff catalytic oven, not AEG, but for me, oven cleaning is ancient history. All I do now is wipe the shelves down while they are still warm with a damp soapy cloth & same with the interior of the glass door.

Is that as a general rule or after putting it on the self clean setting ?
