hi all,

just as the title says, poundstreacher is doing a bag of suger for 69p. My local store has run out completely, but they have a delivery tomorrow

so under 67p a bag (individually 75p)

And their own 10% discount vouchers can be used IF you spend £25 (save £2.50)

Also they have £5 off £50 and £10 off £100

On a side note, saw that Sainsburys now charge £1 for a 500g pack.

So much for Sainsburys 'Live well for less' slogan!!

Probably true if its a disincentive to eat sugar.

But it's not true.

Must have read the wrong SEL or it was just misplaced

1kg bag of Silver Spoon GRANULATED is £1 (the 500g bag is 70p)

Indeed it's cheaper to buy the 1kg FAIRTRADE sugar at 90p (Sainsbury's own brand)

The 2 products that ARE £1 for 500g are

Silver Spoon Sugar CUBES and Silver Spoon ICING Sugar

IF you do want "CHEAP(er)" sugar from Sainsburys, get the 5kg bag for £4.10 (so 82p a kilo)

Poundstretcher have been doing this for quite some time. I'm lucky in having two stores near to me, but, understandably, you do have to be in the right one at the right time.

PS. The Kingswood, Bristol store was the right store and this morning was the right time.

Well I saw the £1 price Sel above the big, full pallet of normal size sugar with an arrow on strip pointing downwards.

The 1kg bags are on a sheif next to it but far enough not to be mixed up price wise.

So I don't know whats going on there.

Isn't that a 1Kg bag ????

The standard "normal" bag for sugar has always been 1kg (except in the good old pre-metric "olden days" when it weighed 2lbs)

thanks for the information, I am sure it will be helpful to others. My nearest Farmfoods is 6.2 miles away. the petrol will eat up the saving
