been discharged for nearly 2 years now and i still can't get credit. i really would like to rebuild my credit score but don't know how

TBH, you're pretty much knackered until all the defaults/late payments, CCJs etc you got before banking and the BR drop off your file.
You're borderline OK for a mortgage and for utilities/mobile phone but that's it.
You've got a fair bit of waiting yet.0
