Do Stepchange/payplan pass on your Income proof letters +bank statements to creditors

With Stepchange or Payplan, when entering a DMP and after completing the Income/expenditure form with them, to calculate what you can pay them a month,

Then you send them your proof of income/ or statements of any income.

When Stepchange/Payplan receive these, do they pass them on to the creditors? (photocopies, via post/ or scanned?)

Eg, if you have 6 creditor, do Payplan send your income proofs to each of the 6 creditors?

Or they the papers stay within these companies only? and don't go to anybody else?

if they Dont get passed on, do the details of income (verbal details) get passed on to the creditors, via SC/PP ?

  • Hi

The statement of affairs showing your income, outgoings and the difference thwt is available for making repayments is what the creditors see.

Does this show the source or name of source of where the income comes from?

ie the company they work for?
  • Yes it shows wages, benefits, pensions etc and how much is received but not the statements.

Sometimes a creditor will ask for proof but not often

You seem awfully concerned about people finding out about your financial situation. Have you witheld information from your DMP?

    No nothing like that,

    infact quite the opposite.

I have heard a case that the creditors said NO to the DMP, and one reason is because they dont have the full picture of the persons income/expenditure, so they cannot make a full judgement and so say No to it.

which is why i was asking, do the DMP Company pass on the full forms to the creditors,.

I hope they all see it, so they can get a good picture,
  • They should get a complete picture from your income and expenditure account - SC and PP are experienced in DMPs so you should have trust in them to represent you

The information sent to creditors is anonymised.

They won't see your employers name. They will just see 'income from employment' or 'income from self-employment' or similar
They also won't see the names of your other creditors.

Actual bank statements/payslips or anything would not be sent to the creditors even if you sent them to your DMP provider.
