There is a massive difference between people really struggling to make ends meet and parasitic blood sucking leaches that want/expect everything given to them.
So don't take it personal Em if people have a different view point . As you will see the people really struggling where myself and others I would imagine, see the 2nd lot that come out of the shop at ten in the morning with their £5 scratchcard, 4 cans and packet of fags.
Thankfully I am in neither group but none of us know what the future holds ;)

I had an interesting 'conversation' with one mum at the school gate once. She was chain smoking, complaining about how they had not decorated her council house for two years and all the paintwork was yellowing (I wonder why!) and saying she was going to 'go round the council and shout at them till they give me more money for uniform'. I couldn't help myself and pointed out that chain smoking probably did not help the finances, along with the designer trainers and track suit, which was an unfortunate choice considering her size, the stream of expletives that came out was quite ridiculous! She said it was up to her what to spend the money on and she had a right to get as much as she could off the council because she was disabled with asthma too!!! Little wonder with the smoking, but the attitude of some people takes a lot of believing!

To be honest, most of the people I see are just genuine, honest people who are having a difficult time, not extravagant spenders or "scroungers", I'm very, very well aware that it can only take one unfortunate event to change our fortunes or tip us over the edge to no longer being able to manage. I personally don't care whether people indulge in a few little luxuries, whatever gets you through the night and all that.
We also donate to the local food bank quite freely as well as other local charities, something we wouldn't do if we did not have faith in them.

I think you are right, you have to give freely or not at all.

I can see where people are coming from in one way though, there are folk out there just to take what they can get. You have to hope with most things that it mostly going to the genuine needy. However they have ended up in the circumstances they have found themselves in x

Expensive Pomegranate too - works out dear at 90p. Would have been better earlier to have got three-pack Pomegranates when they were at £1.00 in A. M had 3 pack Pomegranates at £1.00 but didn't compare as new item. (No lock at all on those 3 pack in A - now £2.50:eek:.)

*In my case, put almost straight back with the Starmix and Flump.
