arghh for pete's sake - had today's date in my diary for a while. :) Last time no DVDs but I was hoping with Sunday closing they may forget. So asked hubby if he could cover 2 stores and I would do the other 2 (they are all 30 mile round trip from our house but in different directions). Asked him if he would be Ok about - oh yes he says when it worked for you before great. Wow thinks I.

I was going to do York him Seacroft and Garforth but he reckoned he didn't know the way between these 2 stores (he has a sat nav!) so he would do York. Ok. Off we go our different ways.
None in Garforth or Seacroft - all Disney DVDs just removed for price change prior to stores opening. Gets back home despondent. Ask OH if he had any luck - he got 6!

1st store lady completing price change so couldn't get but 2nd store he got lucky - think he should have stuck at 4..... Well done I says - then it starts to go pear shaped "but she wouldn't give me DD she says it didn't apply so she refunded me the difference". And what did you do?..... - "I came home" grrrrr. I am like well we didn't want to pay £39 for 3 or 6 DVDs - I'd have given him a price promise if I'd known that lol.

I know he's not so keen on these situations but he agreed to go willingly and he knows DD does apply and said he was happy- I don't understand why he didn't call me for advice? So now I am calling store and she is getting manager to call back. But I don't want to be driving back to York at this time and another 30 miles and 2 hours. .... wondering whether to phone head office customer services and try for gift card.

Of course he is now - oh its not worth it if I get trouted ........haven't told him that's not a trouting that's you rolling over and letting them off.:o Why did he agree to go? Grr - sorry ranting. Hope some of you peeps had better luck.... Any body else's Oh causes mayhem then steps back for you to sort it..... ?

So here's what I do to make my crumble.

Peel rhubarb, chop into pieces, if you wash it make sure it's completely dry as it will have too much liquid when cooked.
I put mine straight in one of those rather ;) cheap T's dishes with the lids some time back. Sprinkle with some sugar. If you don't have lid with dish, cover with foil.
Bake with lid on for 15 mins before putting crumble mix on top, mixing half way through.

Now for the interesting crumble bit -
Take one bag of smart price sponge mix. (filler item)
Add about the same quantity in plain flour.
Add enough butter (doesn't actually take that much) to rub the dry mix into a crumble mix - I usually just do this by feel. (I actually used some home made butter that I made from cheap whopsied double cream at chrimbo.) ;)
Even with no added sugar, this mix is fairly sweet, but I then added a small amount of brown sugar just to give crumble a crunch.

I know this sounds crazy, but it really worked. :T

Had loads of crumble for the top of the fruit this way, just the way my DS likes it, at a fraction of the usual cost. :D

Morning everyone, newbie here, long time lurker though so thought it was about time I registered so I can join in a bit more!

Would like to thank everyone for the great glitches, I only take part in the A ones as I have one in walking distance but I'm tempted to travel for the cat food....

I've already been to A's this morning for the deo but they didn't have any pearl left :( managed to get some on sat though so might have another walk up later to see if they've re-stocked!

    Thanks again :):):)

It's been priced that way at my store this past week but I prefer the quieter option myself lol.
