Rose can your mum not be reassessed in hospital, my mum was, and she didn't come out until package of care suitable was in place. It can be really difficult to get the right care in place once someone is already home. While hospital bed being taken they seem to find the right package that much quicker. ;)

I didn't claim carer's allowance but know that my mum got a disability premium added think because she was entitled to pension credit but not 100% sure. OH not in at the moment so I can't check. But this was on top of attendance allowance. It was not quite as much as carer's allowance but I didn't need the money so it was better going to her. Not sure whether your mum maybe entitled to it. It was added automatically for my mum when she became entitled to AA.

I hope your mum is as comfortable as she can be hun, those hospital beds make life so much easier for everyone. My mum was really anxious about having one but I could not have managed without it and neither could she.

Good luck in the new job too. xx

Mum already has 3 times a day care so they just have to change it to take into account that she has the bed and will actually have to be put to bed each ( with a pad) and got up in the morning. Care agency is very good and they are coming Tuesday afternoon as soon as I pick her up. I am staying Tuesday night anyway as I said I would. Will look into the carer's premium next week. Feel reassured about the bed now you say how much it helped your Mum.

Just went to see her and she was ok.
