Cleaning grout and mildew

Hi again

I am just in the process of Spring cleaning and am doing the grout and mildew on the tiles. I've bought a special cleaner for it but it smells so strong and full of bleach. Are these cleaners the only thing to get rid of mildew or would a normal cleaner do the trick? The smell is getting on my chest, even with the windows open.

hydrogen peroxide can work, the stronger the better. 35% is about as strong as it gets but you have to be extremely careful with it because it can cause the skin to turn bright white! It's a lot like an super power bleech without the smell.

hydrogen peroxide and white vinegar is meant to work well when used in separate spray bottles for destroying bacteria. Might not be so useful for fungi but it might be useful to know if you have some. White vinegar is always useful. I have been trying to get some from Amazon for ages, I had some being delivered but the idiots delivering it broke the container and never delivered it. The same idiots who left a package outside my door in full view of the path. Left for a few minutes and it would not of been there.

Another one is good old fashioned Borax.

I get them from ***here*** and they could be purchased from Amazon, ebay or possibly from the local chemist.

the only stuff that works is nasty. HG mould spray is the only thing that is effective in my experience.
