Just received an email from these people out of the blue and looks too good to be true which usually means a scam or similar or so MSE has always argued. Can anyone please put my mind at ease.

What is the prize?

If caboodle.nationalbooktokens.co.uk I would have thought it kosher - you can always send them a message on FB as well before clicking any links in the email.

Was the email addressed to you by name and to you only?
Did it claim you had won or just that you 'have the chance' to win?
Was there a named person sending the email? Can you google them?


It's hard to say without some more details of what the email said.

Thanks for various helpful responses. Have now challenged them directly by email and received helpful reply explaining how my email address had been obtained - I agreed while entering a competition - so problem resolved.
