Question about paying import tax on a parcel

in Cutting tax
I posted yesterday about an email I had from a company called CCL (Customs Clearance Limited). They had all the correct details about my order which had come from the US, they had my name, etc, and from a lot of googling, it appeared that they are legit. I received the package today but there is no stamp/label/receipt to say that there was tax to pay on it. They have issued me with an email receipt for my payment. Just wondering if the package is normally stamped to say import charges are paid? Or if I should contact PayPal (which is what I used to pay the charge) to see if it was a bit of a scam?
Usually when I order from abroad, I generally get lucky and avoid the taxes, although I rarely place orders from America, it's more from China and I wonder if maybe they are more discreet about what is being sent.

How was the item delivered?0

This may not be a scam, often when customs duty is due a company (normally the delivery company) will "front" the cost and then reclaim it from the recipient later on, this is so that the delivery process isn't interrupted and to prevent a large pile up of packages that can't be delivered until a letter is sent with the charge to the intended recipient. I've never heard of a third party company paying these costs on behalf of a recipient but I had on numerous occasions in 2011 and 2012 DHL do this for me.
Looking at "Customs Clearance Limited" online it would appear that they are an agent of DHL rather than a third party, therefore I suspect that this is genuine. If you're concerned don't bother with PayPal, contact the company that delivered the package to you -- probably DHL -- and ask them if Customs Clearance Limited are working on their behalf.0 -
How was the item delivered?
The item was delivered by Yodel I believe. Not entirely sure as it was delivered to my brother's house as he's more likely to be in than me! My brother is very familiar with one of the ladies that delivers from Yodel as I have so many packages delivered to him. He said it wasn't her but he thinks she may work for the same company.
I called DHL and they were pretty damned useless when I asked them about CCL!0
