    Surely there is a difference between 'not understanding' and 'not being told'. As I said earlier, it is only if the SLC does not provide me with clear repayment conditions that I would consider withholding payments (I'm emigrating so payments will be self assessment rather than HMRC). Thanks for everyone's advice on that aspect of my post.
