So hi guys/girls. I got a letter the other day from capquest saying they have bought an old debt of mine of 11k. Now I know the debt is mine but its over 6 years old. At the time my family moved abroad and I went for a few weeks then came back, moved around alot and forgotten about. Ive not heard anything about the debt for over 6 years untill the other day. I have sent a letter stating that its over 6 years old etc and that its staute barred. Now there offering an easy payment plan where I get discount etc. If I don't they will start legal proceedings. Me and my wife already have an iva and I don't want this effected. What can I do?

If it's statute barred, that is your defence if the try court.
Just make sure they have an up to date address for you, which I presume they have.
Just write to them, stating its statute barred and you do not intend to pay and if they do not leave you alone you will be making a complaint and referring them to the FOS if needed.:beer:0 -

First signs of any funny business, written complaint.
They will get sick of that eventually and leave you alone. Worked for me so far.:beer:0 -
