Lowell 'closed' my account will my default be removed?

Sorry if I am not clear but I am new to this site but a regular reader!
I had a small debt with shop direct which was them passed to lowell, was being paid off in monthly installments for over a year until I did some reading up and realised I never recieved a default letter...
I sent lowell the 3 letter process available everywhere online and after over 2 months I recieved a letter saying they are closing my account.
Now I am reading mixed reviews will them remove my default or won't they?
Ultimately that is all I want to get rid of. There is around 100 left to pay and that doesn't bother me I just want the default removing as I am going to be moving out etc in the next year.
Can someone please help as I have now bit a roadblock of what to go ahead with next
Thankyou!

They won't remove the default, it will just be marked as satisfied. The default will stay on your credit files for 6 years from the 'default date' shown. What will your verse be?

What's the default date?
When you say moving out, for renting, it will make no difference as those credit checks only pick up public info such as CCJs.:beer:0 -
Default date is October 2012.
Surely if they have no original credit agreement as the data controller they can remove it?
Just done a lot of reading all over forums and seem in the past many have been removed
I would be looking at a mortgage unfortunately also it helps with car finance mobile phones etc as I would have a perfect credit score if this default was not there... Annoying!0 -
Defaults usually get removed if issued in error, otherwise what is the point in a credit file if correct defaults get removed?0

lack of agreement wont remove the defaultDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

As said, you won't get it removed for lack of agreement.
As for the mortgage, it is possible to get one with a default. Best post on the mortgage board to get so e advice.:beer:0
