Biscuits Suitable for Stamping?

Hi all,

I bought some lovely cookie stamps in Aldi this week and would like to give them a go over the weekend. However, I know that some biscuit recipes spread when cooked so would distort the words and images...

So, any suggestions for nice, tasty biscuits that will take the indentations of the stamp and not distort?

Thanks,

Kevin

I've never tried a stamp but if you look on pinterest there's some ideas.

Also Martha Stewart says on her website use recipes with no leaveners (raising agents - baking soda, eggs). Such as Shortbread.

I read a recipe that says if you put the cookie dough in the fridge for 20 mins before cooking once they have been cut they don't spread. It did seem to work.

I would think a recipe which used 'rubbed in fat to flour' method would work. a batter recipe which uses raising agents would probably spread out too much.

Mix is all together. Pop the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes before rolling. Havent used a stamp (although just bought one) but they always hold their shape. Hths
