I'm having a quiet day here (if you don't count the drilling and cutting that's going on downstairs ) while I recover from a lovely 7 mile hike yesterday!

Our new bed arrived today and is looking lovely. I can't wait until we can get the rest of the room done :D I'm currently wondering whether to get some storage boxes for underneath or stick with the minimalist look. This will require a massive built in wardrobe in the spare room where we can store all the carp :rotfl:

I've managed 8 NSDs so far this month but have had a few big spends. The latest are a winter coat for me and jumper for DH at 50% off with an extra 20% code and a microwave!

It's pretty wet here so no plans to go out except to walk the dogs later.

    Mini-moan alert:

We have failed to start a family again this month :( and in an attempt to stop myself getting too depressed and miserable, I arranged to go for a nice long walk tomorrow with a colleague. But that has been cancelled now as another colleague has invited all staff for tea, cake and baby chat with another colleague who is pregnant and has been off sick :wall:

So I won't be going and will be trying not to feel lonely and left out of life in general :o

I would just like to add that I really don't mean to be a miserable cow.

Shall I buy myself an ipad to help me feel better?

Thanks SHS, I won't buy the ipad yet :o Although I have been considering it for over a year. I may give in next month though.

I know I don't always feel like this, but when I do I feel like I'm not living my life but just surviving. I'm so ready to move onto the next step and have a family.

Anyway, today I am grateful for my DH, my friend and her ponies, my dogs and hot chocolate :)

  • hello I'm a newbie too but prior to starting my diary i have managed to save £400 just on switching a few bills reviewing mobile phone contracts. I've even go tmy 73 year old dad at it with a massive £65 a month save from switching energy. All thanks to my sister who is an old MSE convert and nagged me for several months before I took up the mantle. Good luck.

Yay for ponies dogs and hot chocolate.
Hugs. It will happen in the end. Its just getting to the end that is the difficult bit.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Hi suebrayj, thanks for popping in

Thank you Watty. You've hit the nail on the head! Now where is my crystal ball? If I could find that I could finally relax! :rotfl:

I'm feeling a bit better today. I dragged myself and the dogs (they really didn't want to get up!) to the beach this morning and felt much better for it. Now in my slippers and joggers with no plans to leave the house again today. Bliss.

I don't know what to say, really, but just to say that it will get better :) everything happens for a reason, though it's difficult at the time. Take care of yourself xx

Thanks SF - there really is nothing to say :o I just don't think I can avoid feeling like this. Although I refuse to believe everything happens for a reason - if that was the case I must have done something awful in a past life :rotfl::eek::rotfl:

Keeping busy today and trying to think of options long term if it doesn't work out the way we hope.

Unfortunate measuring error by DH has resulted in us having to buy another two windows for £350  When I say measuring error, it looks like he didn't measure them at all but used a very old quote we got from a doorstep selling company

Oh well, we do have a new front door finally - and it actually shuts!
