Trust deeds

My husband was in a trust deed for 4 years and has been out of it for 2. He was told after everything is paid you will be able to wipe your credit history and all defaults will also be gone. We are looking to extend out home and have just contacted our mortgage company who told us that from Monday no bank will deal with anyone that has been involved with a debt management plan. Does anyone know if this is right? We have been planning this for years and I'm slightly heart broken. It also means that we can never change our mortgage rate. Thank you

  • What you have been told by your current lender is bunkum. There are a number of changes - primarily around 'affordability' but some lenders are applying other interpretations on certain policy issues - taking place over a month culminating on 26th April.

Placing 'ex debt management clients' is difficult but not impossible - depending on the details, deposit available and history since - go visit a hole of market broker.
