Clarisonic Plus.

Hi, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit to this as it's not very MSE but I'm seriously tempted to buy a clarisonic face brush system.
It would work out cheaper than a lot of facials in a salon but I don't do that anyway...
They have good reviews and as I have very curly unruly hair with I can do little with, and quite good skin, my face is my indulgence zone!
Does anyone on here have one and what do you think?

    I have a one.

    I love it BUT....

I would only recommend buying the standard one.

The Mia or whatever its called. The main advantage of the plus is that it has the body system etc, which frankly isn't as great. A good old fashion body brush or scrab is better most places and I just use my face brush on decollatage/neck. I would be quite happy with a standard one, its more than enough, especially considering the extra oomph you can give it with different facial brush heads.

So, I rave about clarisonic, but save your money on the model IMO. :)

Btw , I have super curly hair too, there is a LOT you can do with curly hair and I wouldn't choose any other hair now.

Thanks for your reply. I was going to push the boat out and go for "best" model but you have made me think twice.
Do you use any particular cleanser with it? I'm assume ing I could nt use my usual white lotion Simple cleanser?
As for the hair, well, after fifty years of being in the curly closet, I am now embracing my curls. X. No more war with the hairdryer etc. it honestly is a great relief to accept myself for what I am.a curly head.
I've grown it to almost touching my shoulders and can scoop it up Into a nice messy up do now. If you stretched it out , it would be a good three inches longer.
It's A bit Crystaltips and Alistair if you know what I mean ,it swamps my face if I don't restrain it somehow.

I love my curly hair. Mine is really long, but I get mild alopecia because of health condition. :(. Just keep it hydrated. There are lots of good curly times on Mse. Mine are are try and lose shampoo if you can and know that curls are different. My styling products work better for me than they do DH, who is also curly, and his don't work as well on mine.

    Right, back to topic,:o

I use a gel cleanser most often as its easiest, and I know what suits me ( avene). I have seen reports here on Mse of people using oil and I think balms and even lotions. When I oil cleanse I don't use it. Some times I use a cream cleanser, but again, personally not with clarisonic. I use it separately. I vary how often I use it. Once a day is better for me really, so a cream cleaner ( or face cloth or oil cleanse) once, and a clarisonic clean the other time.

The other thing is, though its hard, start really gently. Softest brush, and once every come of days! Its excellent I find for dry skin, better I think than for oily areas. I have rosacea and so I mainly use softest brush and lightest programme on my cheeks and its fantastic, Over doing it can aggravates my skin, getting it just right really boosts radiance on cheeks.

The clarisonic cleansers I found AWFUL:).

I am using the same Clarisonic Plus I bought in 2009. I only use it once a day and love it. I no longer ex foliate as I don't need to with the Clarisonic.

I don't use the cleansers with the Clarisonic, I use use the Sensitive one at first. I prefer to use Ren Everclam Gel or Elemis Sensitive Wash, but you can use any cleanser you remove with water. As I have mild roseaca I only use the delicate head.

Don't even think of buying the cheaper versions of the Clarisonic they just do not match up. I would like to see one of them working 5 years later. The way the head works is different from the cheaper ones, their heads just go round and round. Clarisonic only the inner part of the brush goes round the outer bit vibes, just like a sonic toothbrush.

I am so tempted to buy a Clarisonic. How long on average do you get out of a brush head?

Off topic but I also have long, unruly curly hair. I bought a Babyliss big hair brush- it's utterly amazing! Even I can make my hair look sleek and tidy now- I actually wouldn't be without it!!

I can't find one! Where did you get it? Although tbh, I think my hair is better not brushed? It goes into ropey curls hen left alone but fuzz buzz when brushed.

You can do stuff with curly hair, ( like blow dry straight) but it does stress the hair, brushing from a curl without doing something else, yes a mess.

I like my curls so I leave them mostly. I'll be something different to curly tomorrow but its a handful of times a year. ( even then the stress shows in my hair,)

Re clarisonic, I checked and while they don't specify the difference in the Mia, I think Donna might be right. There is an inbetween one of another name though. I'd take technical information from them. I thought they were ALL sonic, being Clara'sonic'?

I would remlind that initially getting the plus was a nightmare as it was deemed for 'professional use' but doesn't make any improvement to by body skin, where as body brushing etc does.

The brushes aren't cheap, and I'd really still rather have extra heads for my brush tbh.

Ultimately, I think the routine and attention and 'gadget' aspect helps a bit too. :D

I think the new model is the Aria. The other one referred to I think, is the much cheaper type like the Loreal model or is it Olay?
They make one that only turns round in one direction.

Yes, I wasn't aware of it, but it seems to get reasonable reviews.
I can be a bit lazy about makeup removal at bedtime and I don't like wet wipes so I'm hoping this might get me into a better routine.
I use cotton wool pads and cream cleanser but I don't get every scrap off I'm sure.
