Help to Buy Mortgage

Hi All,

I currently own a house with my ex partner on a joint mortgage, however my partner wants to buy me out so I will come of the mortgage. I am now looking to buy a new build house under the help to buy scheme. I earn just under 20k a year and looking at a house for around £130k-£140k using the help to buy scheme with a 5% deposit. My question is will I get a mortgage with my earnings? I have no other out goings or loans apart from the usual car insurance, mobile phone bill etc.

Thanks
Sarah

Six times salary is extremely unlikely. You need to lower your expectations somewhat. A property costing around a £100k is nearer the mark.

You are not going to get a mortgage of that level on your own.
