I'm not an expert but that doesnt seem right as i think that they sell you their own service cover with product so that would mean they themselves have sold you the incorrect cover and there maybe something in that to return it.

    Hello there,

The finance that Perfect Homes has given you is almost certainly going to be hire purchase. This means that they would actually owne the laptop until you have completed making the payments. If you would like to return it, there are generally two options:

    A) You can terminate your agreement voluntarily and hand back the goods to Perfect Home. You should only have to pay up to half of the total amount payable under the agreement, minus sums that you have paid and sums that are due. Sums that you have paid include any deposit plus the instalments that you have paid. Sums due are any arrears or missed payments due at the time of termination.

This means that you can return the laptop and make an arrangement to pay the rest of the amount you owe (up to 50% of the total finance amount) at a later stage.

    B) You can let Perfect Home take back the item. Where a creditor terminates an agreement and repossesses the hire-purchase goods you will usually have to pay the full amount owed on the original hire-purchase agreement, minus what you have paid and minus the amount the creditor gets back from selling the goods. This option could potentially cost you more in the end.

We have a useful hire purchase fact sheet, you can find it here

Would you be able to keep the laptop if you can reduce payments on the other debts you have? Do you know how much you owe in total?

    Best wishes,

    David @natdebtline

Hi thanks for replies i have just spoke to perfect homes again and asked to end the agreement she stated the only way this can be done is that i pay off the full balance.I asked again to return the laptop she said this can not be returned and they won't accept it. She said i have enough in my advance money to cover me for 3 weeks then after that they said they will look into it im even more confused as to what to do.

Hello again, do you have a copy of the credit agreement to hand? Can you check to ensure it says that it is hire purchase (or conditional sale) for me?

Does it say 'Hire Purchase Agreement - Regulated by the Consumer Credit Act 1974' at the top?
