Out of interest does anyone use Fidessa for Market data, or just for trading?0
-
I don't think anyone uses Fidessa. I've never seen it or been asked by anyone if they could have it.0
-
I've never even heard of it.
I had a squizz at the website. It looks like it's trying to be a true end-to-end system like Bloomberg AIM only it's probably crap.
It'll be cheap but as all those US funds can pay for Bloomie out of client commissions, why use a crap version? Especially now that Bloomberg have Tradeflow.
Do you guys use Tradeflow?0 -
I'm not sure. I don't, but then I don't really do anything other than futures electronically.
Ah ok. We're considering it. Looking for an opinion.
My experience of Bloomie in general is that their products are very expensive and they are a PITA to deal with but they do what you need.
By any measure: data accuracy, speed, system integration, business continuity, use on the move, being able to chat to your mates and just sheer volume of stuff on there they win every time.
They only thing that beats them is IRESS which you need to trade or manage Aussie equity money. That's something of a niche. IRESS supply the ASX with their platform and hold data like market depth and won't give/sell it to anyone else. Anywhere else there'd be an anti-trust case happening but this is Aus.0
