I've read that these are edible, and as we have taken the tips out of our broad beans today (and they are not covered with Black fly) I am about to try cooking them to go with our braised pheasant. Apparently you boil them and they are like spinach/spring greens.........I'll let you know!
Has anyone else tried them?

Well, they were quite nice! Very much like spinach and when I cook them next time I will stew them down with just a tablespoon or so of water. Give it a try!Downshifted

I always used the tips of broad beans, cook like any other green spinach like veg, they do not need a long cook time
And, you may not know, the young beans can be picked & used as mange tout, the whole pod is edible, but as it ages it gets tougherEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
