If you have a load on say a window get one of those anti-bac sprays or even window cleaner spray and soak them. It stops them flying and you can just scoop them up. Another alternative is to look like a madwoman with the Hoover wand and suck all the little sods out of the air and wall.

things that dont work
putting ANYTHING in your kitchen that will attract flies..(even mostly to their death)
because then you cant open a door or window
