Birmingham Midshires Mortgage

Options
We asked Birmingham Midshires to approve a port of our existing interest only mortgage to a new property within the agreed terms (new property must be lower value than existing) last December. We had their decision in principle but once we have found a property it has been a nightmare. We found a property in February and since then both ourselves and our FA (BM will only deal with a FA now) have made over 50 phone calls to their premium rate number - some over an hour long.
Time and time again we have been told to call back in 2 hours, 4 hours, 24/48 hours, they have lost our original documentation regarding P60's etc, have never been able to find a senior manager for us to talk to, made every excuse under the sun saying that our case was with the interest only team, approvals etc. They have promised that it will be looked into and an approval given that day on around 5 occasions, but still nothing. Our FA says he has never seen anything like this in his 40 years in business, their staff member told us he had never seen anything like this either.
I haven't slept for over a week and this is making me ill - to top it off last night we were told that the house is being put back on the market tonight - so it's not going to be our house any more.
Birmingham Midshires you are directly responsible for making my family and I homeless as we will have to move out into temporary accommodation, I've paid you nearly £900 for a survey that is now useless, my FA's bill is well over £1,000 for no result and I'm going to have charges now for rental, storage and more let alone the stress this is going to put on my family. You should be ashamed with yourselves for this type of behaviour and should not be allowed to get away with it:cry.::cry:. I've already reported this to FCA and my solicitor, but that's not going to help me today

    I feel your pain.

I've been trying to get a BTL case through for weeks now. Lost paperwork, resent, now can't read paperwork, resent, it's still not very clear please email scans (they only use fax). A week later they ask for more different paperwork and so the circle is complete and we start again. Lost paperwork, resent, now can't read paperwork, resent........you get the picture.

I don't think the OP has a B2L as they are porting and say they will now have no home.

I suggest a letter of complaint to:

Mr Antonio Mota de Sousa Horta Osorio
    Chief Executive Officer
    Bank of Scotland PLC
    The Mound
    Edinburgh
    Midlothian
    UNITED KINGDOM
    EH1 1YZ

Post it but also fax it.

You can also call 0131 3392573.

Note that Bank of Scotland owns Birmingham Midshires.
